Bulletin Vol 66 No 5

SONY Canada will be giving a presentation on the successor to the highly regarded VX2000 series, the HDR-FX7 high definition camcorder. We may also get to see a demo of Cinescore, their soundtrack creation software.


The entries in the Ten Minute Contest will be shown, and we'll continue to work our way through the collection of movies produced by other clubs/ a.k.a. "Dave's Shoebox"...

OUR ANNUAL BANQUET WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY March 18, at the Holiday Inn, 3020 Blanshard Street. Reception will be at 12:30 and dinner at 1:00 p.m.

We will be having a buffet. The menu is Green Salad, Mulitgrain Dinner Rolls, Hot Seasoned Vegetables, Lemon Herb Chicken with Rice, Assorted Sweets and Squares, Coffee and Tea.

We will have LUCKY NUMBER DRAWS throughtout the evening. Videos entered in the Annual Contest and the winners from the club's other contests will be shown. The winners of the contests will be presented their awards.

Tickets are $24 per person. If you have not purchased yours, please mail or deliver your cheque (payable to the Victoria Video Club) to Michael Veronneau. It must be received no later than February 27, as we need to know by that date how many people will be coming. You may bring as many guests as you wish.

THE NEXT EXECUTIVE MEETING - will be held on Monday, March 5 at 7:00pm at the home of Sheila Perkins.

THE GOODIES for the February meeting will be provided by Alice Thomas.

THE ASSIGNED SUBJECT CONTEST deadline will be the April 24 meeting. The topic is "Windows and Doors." It may be up to four minutes long, including titles and credits. You may enter as many videos as you wish.

THE ONE MINUTE CONTEST deadline is the May 29 meeting. Your videos may be on any subject but they must be no longer than one minute in length, including titles and credits. There is no limit to the number of entries you may submit and you may put more than on video on a video cassette or DVD disc (in this contest only).  Contest Rules.

THE SOCIETY of CANADIAN CINE AMATEURS' (SCCA) ASSIGNED SUBJECT CONTEST topic this year is: "Your Call is Important to Us." The deadline is June 1. Our club members are eligible to enter this contest as groups or individuals.

VISITORS are always welcome at our meetings. Bring along a friend.
