THE NEXT EXECUTIVE MEETING - will be held on Monday, June  4 at 7:00pm at the home of Mila Werbik.

THE GOODIES for the May meeting will be provided by Sheila Perkins.

CLUB PICNIC - Margaret will be hosting a club picnic on Wednesday May 23rd, 2007 at her trailer site C-3 at Osborne Bay Resort in Crofton. Bring a lunch, a piece of fruit (for a fruit salad), and a folding chair and get ready to have a fun day. There is also the opportunity to get involved in a short video production...see page 2 for more information.

THE ONE MINUTE CONTEST deadline is the May 29 meeting. Your videos may be on any subject but they must be no longer than one minute in length, including titles and credits. There is no limit to the number of entries you may submit and you may put more than on video on a video cassette or DVD disc (in this contest only). Lets have LOTS of entries this year!  Contest Rules.

A RECENT ADDITION TO THE LEARNING LIBRARY is "Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Express HD" covering Final Cut Express (FCE) HD v. 3.5. Each chapter presents a complete lesson to learn how to use FCE to make effective edits, transitions, work with audio and finish your video for DVD, or the web. Hands on projects, with all the files you need on the included DVD, let you learn 'by doing." Contact Sheila to borrow. 

SCCA WESTERN VICE-PRESIDENT – After 25 years as the Western Representative, Margaret Chamberlain will be resigning from the position. The new Western Vice-President will be announced by the SCCA.

CLUB CONTEST RULES – A copy of the final draft of the club's proposed new contest rules is attached. The Executive will vote to adopt these rules at the June executive meeting. Feedback or questions should be directed to any of the executive members.

THE SCCA ANNUAL COMPETITION The deadline for submissions to the 2007 Society of Canadian Ciné Amateurs' contest are due no later than June 15th. See the SCCA website ( for more information.
