Bulletin Vol 64 No 8

MAY MEETING

TIME       7:30 p.m.

 

PROGRAM

The Assigned Subject Contest will be shown and judging comments discussed.

We will view two short videos showing transfer from Hi8 (1994) to DVD. Questions and comments.

Interview "club shoot": a club member will be interviewed, and the interview will be taped for editing. Dave will be the interviewer and Morris the interviewee. We will need one or two camera operators, a sound person, and other helpers to be selected at the meeting. Bring your ideas and anything that you think might help and get ready to have some fun. Please come early to help setup.

We will view videos sent by our sister club in Sydney, Australia (time permitting).

OUR NEXT EXECUTIVE MEETING will be held on Tuesday, June 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Eleanor Haire.

NEW EXECUTIVE - We will be having the election of officers for 2005-06 at the June meeting. Please consider letting your name stand for a position on the executive.

THE ONE MINUTE CONTEST deadline is the May 31 meeting. In this contest, your videos may be on any subject. They may be no longer than one minute in length, including titles and credits. You may enter as many videos as you please. In this contest only, you are permitted to put more than one video on the same VHS tape or DVD.

NEW CLUB CONTEST - We are going to have a contest in which you may use video generated by your computer. In this contest, none of the footage need be shot by the maker. Entries may be no longer than ten minutes. Contest deadline is the September meeting.

CLUB PICNIC - Please bring ideas for the club picnic to the meeting. 

ALASKA CRUISE CONVENTION - There is still time to book this. Ask Margaret for information.

NANAIMO WORKSHOP - Dave will host a Casablanca/Macro Prestige stand-alone editor demonstration. Starting with some video source material, then scene selections and arrangement, titling, transitions, effects and audio tracks and finally transfer to DVD. Contact Dave for further info and scheduling.
