JUNE MEETING

PROGRAM

The One Minute Contest entries will be show and judging comments discussed.

We will show the videos which have been brought by our guests.

Some videos sent to us by the Sydney, Australia club.

We will have a discussion. What subjects, demos, presentations, speakers, topics, etc. would we like to see happening over 2005-06?

THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS for next year's executive will be held at the June meeting.

THE NEW CLUB CONTEST's deadline is the September 27 meeting. In this contest, you may use video generated by your computer. None of the footage needs to be shot by you. Entries may be on any topic but may be no longer than ten minutes in length.

CLUB PICNIC - Please bring your ideas for the club picnic to the meeting. Do we wish to have a picnic this year? If so, we need to decide on a location and date at the June meeting.

NEW CLUB CONTEST - We are going to have a contest in which you may use video generated by your computer. In this contest, none of the footage need be shot by the maker. Entries may be no longer than ten minutes. Contest deadline is the September meeting.

CLUB PICNIC - Please bring ideas for the club picnic to the meeting. 

INTERNATIONAL CONTESTS YOU CAN ENTER:

The Ten Best of the West (TBW) - entries must be received by July 1. If you bring your entries to the June meeting, it will save you the postage.
Amateur Movie Makers Association (AMMA) - entries must be received by July 15.
American Motion Picture Society (AMPS) - entries must be received by August 15.

 

PRESTIGE WORKSHOP - Dave has offered to host a Casablanca/Macro Prestige (stand-alone editor) demonstration in Nanaimo for a day in July. Date is to be decided. He will be starting with some video source material, then scene selections and arrangement, titling, transitions, effects and audio tracks and finally transfer to DVD. Contact Dave for further information. What day is best for you?

Three of the videos won second place. It's the first time in the history of the club that's happened.

This is the last meeting of the season. We'll be having Tim Horton's doughnuts supplied by the club. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 27. Have a great summer and take lots of video.
