NOVEMBER MEETING

PROGRAM

Barry Casson, president of the Victoria Motion Picture School (http://www.vicfilm.com/) will be showing a few videos and discussing how they were produced, and answering questions from club members.

We will be showing the submissions from the "Anything Goes" and "Song Title" contests, as well as a selection of movies from the "Ten Best of the West" 2005 festival.

OUR NEXT EXECUTIVE MEETING - will be held on Monday, January 9, at 7:00pm at the home of Margaret Chamberlain.

OUR GUEST SPEAKER - will be Barry Casson. Barry was trained in Hollywood as a director/cinematographer, and spent nine years as a TV news cameraman with CHEK Television here in Victoria. Several club members have attended workshops at VMPS and we look forward to Barry's visit with us. 

"GOODIES" - for the November meeting's refreshments will be provided by Jean Rawlings.

THE TEN MINUTE CONTEST deadline is the November 29 meeting. In this contest, you may choose whatever topic you wish and enter as many videos as you like. Your productions may be up to ten minutes in length (including all titles and credits). Your entries may be submitted on VHS tape or DVD disc. Let's have lots of entries this time. It is really easy to produce a video that qualifies for this contest!

OUR CLUB CHRISTMAS DINNER will be held at the Westbay Rendezvous Restaurant, 880B Esquimalt Rd., on Thursday, December 8. Reception is at 6:00pm and dinner will be served at 6:30. If you are going to attend, contact Glen at 385-1116 no later than December 5. We must know by then how many will be attending.

THE ANNUAL CONTEST DEADLINE is the January 24 meeting. In this contest, your entries may be on any subject and up to fifteen minutes in length. There are three classes: Novice, Intermediate and Open. You may enter as many videos as you wish. Refer to your "Contest Rules" sheet for qualifications. Your entries may be on VHS or DVD.

OUR ANNUAL BANQUET will be held on Sunday, March 5, at 12:30pm, at the Holiday Inn, 3020 Blanshard St. We will be having a buffet. The menu is Green Salad, Mulitgrain Dinner Rolls, Hot Seasoned Vegetables, Lemon Herb Chicken with Rice, Assorted Sweets and Squares, Coffee and Tea. Ticket price will be $23.00 per person.

THE ASSIGNED SUBJECT CONTEST deadline will be the April 25 meeting. The topic will be "Wind".
