JANUARY MEETING

PROGRAM

Michael will present some information on new sources of low-cost, royalty-free music that can make distributon of your movies to national and international contests 'copyright-violation-worry-free.'

We will watch the entries for the "Ten Minute Contest," and we will also try and get caught up on the backlog of wonderful movies that Dave has been collecting for club members to enjoy. You can relax and view, sit and snooze, or critique and review, as you choose.

OUR NEXT EXECUTIVE MEETING - will be held on Monday, February 6, at 7:00pm at the home of Margaret Chamberlain.

THE "GOODIES"for the January meeting's refreshments will be provided by Michael Véronneau.

THE ANNUAL CONTEST DEADLINE is the January 31 meeting. In this contest, your entries may be on any subject and up to fifteen minutes in length. There are three classes: Novice, Intermediate and Open. You may enter as many videos as you wish. Refer to your "Contest Rules" sheet for qualifications. Your entries may now be on DVD or VHS but remember to put only one entry on each DVD or VHS tape. Also, be sure to mark it with the exact length of your video production.

NEW BOOKS FOR OUR CLUB - The club executive has approved our club participating in the PeachPit User Group Program. There is no cost to the club. Here are two benefits: each month we can choose a free book from their catalogue, and this book can be placed in our club library or raffled off as a prize; and club members are eligible for a 20-30% discount on orders placed with PeachPit. Details at the January Meeting.

OUR ANNUAL BANQUET will be held on Sunday, March 5, at 12:30pm, at the Holiday Inn, 3020 Blanshard St. Reception will be at 12:30 and dinner at 1:00 p.m. We will be having a buffet. The menu is Green Salad, Mulitgrain Dinner Rolls, Hot Seasoned Vegetables, Lemon Herb Chicken with Rice, Assorted Sweets and Squares, Coffee and Tea. Ticket price will be $23.00 per person, to be purchased in advance. They will be available at the January meeting.

THE SCCA'S ASSIGNED SUBJECT CONTEST topic this year is "It's in the Bag." The deadline is June 1. Club members are eligible to enter this contest as groups or individuals.

THE ASSIGNED SUBJECT CONTEST deadline will be the April 25 meeting. The topic will be "Wind".
